The seventh annual Black Tie Bingo Gala will take place later this month, with the theme of “Moulin Rouge,” the city of Tyler announced.
The fundraiser, hosted by Heart of Tyler, is scheduled for 6:30 to 11 p.m. Aug. 9 at the People’s Petroleum Building, 102 N. College Ave.
French-style cuisine, songs from Moulin Rouge and the can-can will be part of the night’s entertainment, but the featured activity will be four “high stakes” games of bingo, according to a news release. Prizes will include cooking classes, a downtown luxury pampering package and Texas Rangers tickets. The final prize will be two Liberty Hall fall season passes.
“We are so excited that the People’s Petroleum Building is hosting Black Tie Bingo this year,” Public Relations Chairwoman Anna Malone said. “It is the most prominent, historic landmark in downtown Tyler. Its Art Deco design and gold leaf enhancements lend a perfect backdrop for our Moulin Rouge theme.”
According to a news release, attendees may participate in a $25 chance drawing to select a prize that may be accompanied by an exquisite trois circle diamond pendant necklace from Elliott’s Jewelers. The prize is valued at $3,450.
Major sponsors include Findlay Craft, PC, R.W. Fair Foundation, Garrett & Associates General Contractors, Regions Bank and Villa Montez.
Tickets cost $100 each, and net proceeds will support Heart of Tyler, the community’s only nonprofit completely dedicated to downtown revitalization, according to a news release. Heart of Tyler also serves as a City of Tyler advisory board.
