The seventh annual Black Tie Bingo Gala will take place later this month, with the theme of â€śMoulin Rouge,â€ť the city of Tyler announced.
The fundraiser, hosted by Heart of Tyler, is scheduled for 6:30 to 11 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Peopleâ€™s Petroleum Building, 102 N. College Ave.
French-style cuisine, songs from Moulin Rouge and the can-can will be part of the nightâ€™s entertainment, but the featured activity will be four â€śhigh stakesâ€ť games of bingo, according to a news release. Prizes will include cooking classes, a downtown luxury pampering package and Texas Rangers tickets. The final prize will be two Liberty Hall fall season passes.
â€śWe are so excited that the Peopleâ€™s Petroleum Building is hosting Black Tie Bingo this year,â€ť Public Relations Chairwoman Anna Malone said. â€śIt is the most prominent, historic landmark in downtown Tyler. Its Art Deco design and gold leaf enhancements lend a perfect backdrop for our Moulin Rouge theme.â€ť
According to a news release, attendees may participate in a $25 chance drawing to select a prize that may be accompanied by an exquisite trois circle diamond pendant necklace from Elliottâ€™s Jewelers. The prize is valued at $3,450.
Major sponsors include Findlay Craft, PC, R.W. Fair Foundation, Garrett & Associates General Contractors, Regions Bank and Villa Montez.
Tickets cost $100 each, and net proceeds will support Heart of Tyler, the communityâ€™s only nonprofit completely dedicated to downtown revitalization, according to a news release. Heart of Tyler also serves as a City of Tyler advisory board.
