A Flint family will hold a massive garage sale starting Friday to raise money to adopt a second child.
The 50-family garage sale for David and Sara Apperley will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Tyler’s south campus, 17002 U.S. Highway 69. The sale will resume 7 a.m. Saturday and run until noon.
“The Apperley family is adopting again, and we are having a garage sale to help raise funds to cover our adoption fees,” the family said in a news release. “We will also have representatives from Hope for 100 and our adoption agency to answer questions regarding adoption for anyone who is considering adoption.”
Items for sale include electronics, computers, audio and visual equipment, gaming systems, musical instruments and cases, toys, baby gear and clothes, adult and children’s clothes/shoes, housewares, decor, seasonal decor, hardware and interior/exterior doors.
Hunting and fishing equipment, power tools, furniture, mattresses, bedding, lawn equipment, sports equipment, office equipment, wedding decor, craft supplies, loom, bikes, exercise equipment also will be for sale.
“If you need it, we have it,” the Apperley family said in the news release.
The couple adopted their first child, Jacob, in 2011. Apperley is information technology director at The Lighthouse in Tyler, and Sara is a school teacher.
