Tyler man arrested after making threats with a gun; booked on aggravated assault

A Tyler man was arrested Sunday afternoon after threatening another man with a gun.

Tyler police were called to the 1400 block of North Whitten Avenue about 1:25 p.m., according to a news release.

Two men were fighting, when one of the men, 28-year-old Gregory Perry, went to his home to get a gun.

Police said Perry then threatened to kill the other man and shot one round from the pistol.

He was booked into the Smith County Jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
