The 83rd annual Old Fiddlers Contest and Reunion was held Saturday in Athens. The fiddlers contest featured competitions among seniors aged 66 and over, adults 30 to 65, young adults aged 19 to 29 years of age and youth aged 18 and under. Among those who attended was Wesley Allbright who played his 1963 Gibson LG-O model guitar in a a bluegrass jam session. Also, Norman Ponder, of Baytown, played banjo for Daniel Arnold, of Martins Mill, on the courthouse square. Dick Moorhead played his Dobro in a a jam session on the Henderson County Courthouse lawn. Bill May, 83, played on stage.
