An event featuring food, wine, art and music is coming to downtown next month.
The Downtown Tyler Wine Swirl is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. on June 28.
Beverly Abell, of the city of Tyler Main Street Department, said the event is “like an art walk with wine and food.”
During the event, she said Texas wineries and locally owned restaurants are paired together in different venues downtown. As of Tuesday afternoon, 18 Texas wineries and 18 locally owned restaurants were slated to participate.
Ms. Abell said attendees check in at Gallery Main Street, 110 W. Erwin St., where they will receive a custom wine swirl plate, a wine glass and a wristband, which entitles them to “swirl” from site to site. They will be allowed a 2-ounce sample of wine as well as a food sample at each location.
There also will be a VIP area at Liberty Hall for sponsors, as well as live music and art booths with art related to food and wine, Ms. Abell said.
“It’s just a really great way to put the spotlight on our locally owned restaurants, on downtown, on our Texas wineries, and it’s a fundraiser for the Main Street Department,” she said, adding that proceeds will help fund projects such as gallery exhibits, historic preservation work, art workshops, ArtWalk and business development.
She encouraged people to get tickets fast because the event is limited to 500 ticket-holders.
“People are already calling and saying, ‘How can I get these,’” Ms. Abell said Tuesday afternoon.
Tickets are $50 per person, and ticket-holders must be 21 or older.
Tickets are available at Gallery Main Street, 110 W. Erwin St., and online. A fee will apply to online purchases, according to a news release.
