Early voting for runoff election under way

Early voting polls for the May 27, 2014 runoff election are now open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday, May 19 and run through Friday, May 23 at five early voting locations in Smith County.

All early voting times and locations are listed below. Please visit the Elections page of the Smith County Web site at

www.smith-county.com/Government/Departments/Elections/Default.aspx to view sample ballots or look up your voting precinct. You can also call the Smith County Elections office at 903-590-4777.

Early Voting Times:

May 19 – 23 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Early Voting Locations:

Smith County Elections Office, 302 E. Ferguson Street, Tyler;

Noonday Community Center, 16662 County Road 196, Tyler;

Whitehouse Municipal Court, 311 E. Main St., Whitehouse;

Lindale Masonic Lodge, 200 Margaret St., Lindale;

Heritage Building, 1900 W. Bellwood Road, Tyler.

In Wood County, early voting is located at the Wood County Courthouse, Quitman, at the basement level. But there is no voting at the courthouse on Election Day. For Election Day, there are a few polling locations that have been combined for the runoff election only.  Election Day polling locations are as follows:

Pcts 1-1, 3-1, 4-1 & 4-4 will all vote at the Carroll Green Civic Center - Quitman.

Pct 1-2 votes at Yantis Community Center - Yantis

Pct 1-3 votes at Alba Community Center - Alba

Pct 1-4 votes at Harold Simmons Community Center – Golden

Pcts 2-1, 2-2 & 2-3 will all vote at Mineola City Hall – Mineola

Pct 3-2 votes at Holly Lake Volunteer Fire Department – Holly Lake Ranch

Pct 3-3 votes at Hawkins Volunteer Fire Department – Hawkins

Pct 4-2 & 4-3 will all vote at Winnsboro City Auditorium – Winnsboro
