Three men authorities believed were responsible for a string of home and auto burglaries were behind bars on Monday in the Smith County Jail.
Smith County sheriff’s officials began searching for Broderick Darrnell Willis, 18, of Flint, Payton Joseph Raymond, 19, of Flint, and Austin Michael Drain, 19, of Tyler, last week.
Two of the men turned themselves in Thursday, and one turned himself in Monday.
The men are accused of committing at least 15 home and auto burglaries in the Running Meadows Addition in Flint and on Farm-to-Market Road 2493 and Farm-to-Market Road 2813.
The sheriff’s office said most of the burglaries happened between 3 p.m. and the early morning hours of the next day. Most of the items stolen included purses, jewelry, credit and debit cards, guns and cash.
Currently, Willis is being held on a $75,000 bond for theft of a firearm, while Raymond is being held on a $75,000 warrant for burglary of a habitation. Drain also is in county jail on a $100,000 bond for burglary of a habitation.
