A prisoner who walked away from a jail detail earlier this week was captured in South Texas last night.
Cherokee County Sheriff Capt. John Raffield said Thomas Kyle Wagoner was apprehended by deputies with the US Marshals Service at a residence in Frio County.
He was transported to Medina County Jail in Hondo where he currently awaits extradition back to the Cherokee County Jail.Raffield said a second individual was arrested at approximately this morning about 3 a.m. in connection to the escape and was charged with permitting or facilitating escape, a 3rd degree felony.
That individual's name is not being released at this time, pending arraignment.Raffield said the investigation is still ongoing, and it is not known at this time if more people will be charged, or if those in custody will havecharges brought against them.
