Alleyfest opening today in downtown Longview

AlleyFest, one of the largest celebrations in East Texas each year, takes place today and Saturday in downtown Longview between Cotton and Methvin streets.

Sponsored by Longview Chamber of Commerce, the event includes activities for children, art, vendors, food, live music and a fun run. The hours are noon to 11 p.m. both days. Admission is $5 before 5 p.m. and $10 after. Admission is free for children 12 and younger.

Set to perform on the outdoor stage today are Cole Allen, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.; The Matthew Davidson Band, 4 to 5 p.m.; Ally Venable, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Lulu and the Vipers, 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Kayla Reeves, 9:30 p.m.

Set to perform on Saturday are Darrin Morris Band, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Ambush, 12:30 to 2 p.m., Buddy Flett, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Jonathan Fox Band, 4 to 5 p.m., Crooks, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Folk Family Revival, 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Granger Smith, 9 to 10:30 p.m.

AlleyFest is being held in conjunction with Historic Depot Days that includes events at the train depot Gregg County Historical Museum.
