Commencement ceremonies for The University of Texas at Tyler and Tyler Junior College are scheduled for this week.
UT Tyler will recognize more than 750 degree candidates in its ceremonies on Friday and Saturday in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center, according to a university news release.
The College of Nursing and Health Sciences students are scheduled to graduate at 3 p.m. Friday followed by the College of Arts and Sciences students at 6 p.m. Friday.
The College of Business and Technology students are scheduled to graduate at 10 a.m. Saturday followed by students from the Colleges of Education and Psychology and Engineering and Computer Science at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Richard Lee, East Texas Symphony Orchestra director and conductor, is scheduled to speak at the Saturday ceremonies.
Dr. Howard Y. Patterson, UT Tyler’s vice president for student affairs, is scheduled to speak at the Saturday ceremonies.
UT Tyler President Dr. Rod Mabry will give remarks and Dr. Alisa White, UT Tyler’s provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, is scheduled to present and certify doctoral degree candidates, according to the news release.
The college deans will present and certify degree candidates and Brittany Childs, UT Tyler director of alumni relations, is scheduled to give alumni association presentations.
Tyler Junior College commencement ceremonies are scheduled for 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Friday in Wagstaff Gymnasium on the college’s campus.
