RUSK (KYTX) -- A young man is in critical condition at an East Texas hospital after being found unconscious in a ditch in Rusk.

A passerby called police after seeing 22-year-old Xavier Lang laying alongside Underwood Street behind the McDonald's around 8:30 Tuesday night.

Investigators said it was not clear how Lang had been injured, adding that it remained under investigation as of Wednesday afternoon.

Lang's family spoke with CBS 19 Wednesday indicating that they found his injuries suspicious, having been told that he jumped from a moving truck. They said they were forced out of the hospital by Lang's wife of one month Wednesday afternoon.
