TxDOT plans work in Smith County

Texas Department of Transportation will be completing roadwork in its eight-county district this week.

Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and motorists should be prepared to reduce speed and merge around work zones.


Maintenance crews will make base and pavement repairs on Texas Highway 64 between West Loop 323 and Farm-to-Market Road 724 near Tyler Pounds Regional Airport.

Meanwhile, a second crew will continue base and pavement repairs on East Loop 323 between the Loop 323 extension and Commerce Street.


Crews will resurface various spots on Farm-to-Market Road 321 between Texas Highway 155 in Mound Prairie and Farm-to-Market Road 2574 in Neches. 


TxDOT will continue shoulder and edge work on Texas Highway 204 between Loop 456 in Jacksonville and Texas Highway 110 in Ponta.


Crews will do shoulder work in recently resurfaced areas of Farm-to-Market Road 2087 between South Loop 281 in Longview and Interstate 20, followed with the same work on Farm-to-Market Road 2605 between Longview and White Oak.



TxDOT will continue surface-sealing operations on Farm-to-Market Road 3062 near Star Harbor and on Farm-to-Market Road 1214 near Caney City.

A second crew will continue spot resurfacing on Farm-to-Market Road 59 in Athens between Texas Highway 19 and Loop 7.


TxDOT will make base and pavement repairs on Farm-to-Market Road 3055 between U.S. Highway 84 west of Mount Enterprise and the end of state maintenance.

A second crew will continue base and pavement repairs on Farm-to-Market Road 95 between Texas Highway 315 and Farm-to-Market Road 1798.


TxDOT will resurface Farm-to-Market Road 1643 east of Quitman between Texas Highway 37 and Farm-to-Market Road 515.

A second crew will continue edge work on U.S. Highway 80 between Mineola and Crow.
