Henderson County sets child abuse awareness event

(MCT) -- To fight child abuse, Henderson County District Attorney's office, County Attorney's office and Henderson County Sheriff's Department is asking everyone to wear blue to raise awareness.

Wednesday, April 30, will be Go Blue Day in Henderson County. Citizens are being asked to purchase a Go Blue T-shirt and wear blue to draw attention to the cause.

Some proceeds from the sale will go to Henderson County teachers in fifth-grade and below who receive free blue ribbon T-shirts and a fourth-grade poster contest that raises awareness of child abuse.

Poster contest participants will be treated to a at Whatz-Up Family Fun Park in Seven Points.
