Medication cleanout event set for Saturday

The Tyler Police Department, along with the Drug Enforcement Agency and Super 1 Foods, is hosting a free Medication cleanout event Saturday.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., area residents can drop off unused and expired medications for safe disposal without getting out of their vehicle at Super 1 Foods, 113 NNW Loop 323, according to a statement.

Medications accepted include prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, veterinary medicine, vitamins, minerals and medication samples. Medical equipment, such as oxygen tanks, sharps, inhalers, thermometers, nebulizers and IV bags cannot be accepted.

The Medication Cleanout also is sponsored by Super 1 Foods, at Texas Highway 64 West and Loop 323. For more, visitwww.medicationclean out.com.
