LOVELADY (AP) — The National Weather Service will determine whether it was a tornado that caused damage to several buildings in the small East Texas town of Lovelady, destroying at least three mobile homes.
Lance Wood, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Houston, tells The Associated Press that inspectors will go to the scene Monday to determine what caused the damage during a rainstorm late Sunday afternoon.
Houston County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy G. P. Shearer tells Lufkin television station KTRE (http://bit.ly/RhYNEw ) that eight structures were damaged. There was also minor damage to Lovelady High School.
Shearer said a woman received lacerations to her face and arm when a tree fell into her mobile home.
