The Texas Department of Transportation road crews will be working in eight counties this week repairing roadways.

Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge around the work zones.

Crews will clean and repair ditches in various locations on Farm-to-Market Road 321 between Texas Highway 155 in Mound Prairie and Farm-to-Market Road 2574 in Neches.

On Monday, construction crews from contractor APAC-Dallas Inc. will begin reshaping northbound U.S. Highway 69 between Toll 49 and Cumberland Road to lower the grade of the roadway to allow better access and sight distance into the new development in the area.

The project also will add two traffic signals in the area to facilitate easier access for southbound traffic turning into the development.

During construction, the speed limit in the area will be reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph and traffic will regularly be reduced to one lane, particularly on the northbound side.

The $2.1 million project has been completely funded by the developer.

TxDOT crews will continue base and pavement repairs on Texas Highway 135 between Troup and Arp, then move to Texas Highway 135 near the Overton city limits.

A second TxDOT crew will continue base and pavement repairs on East Loop 323 in Tyler between the Loop 323 extension and Commerce Street.

On Tuesday, TxDOT and the Union Pacific Railroad will make repairs to the railroad tracks in the westbound lanes North Loop 323, east of U.S. Highway 69.

On Monday and Tuesday, TxDOT crews will make base and pavement repairs in the curb-and-gutter section of U.S. Highway 79 west of Jacksonville, followed mid-week by the same operations in various spots on Highway 69 between Jacksonville and Rusk.

TxDOT contractor Madden Construction Inc. will finish resurfacing operations by Tuesday this week on Farm-to-Market Road 2605 (Tenneryville Road) between Farm-to-Market Road 1845 (Pine Tree Road) in Longview to the end of state maintenance in White Oak.

Construction crews will continue work to add a left-turn lane from U.S. Highway 259 Kilgore Bypass at Synergy Park.

On Monday, crews will begin adding shoulders to Farm-to-Market Road 317 between Farm-to-Market Road 314 south of Brownsboro and Farm-to-Market Road 315 south of Chandler.

Crews will continue resurfacing operations on U.S. Highway 175 between Farm-to-Market Road 804 east of Athens and Farm-to-Market Road 315 in Poynor.

Crews will continue several weeks of base and pavement repairs on Farm-to-Market Road 95 between Texas Highway 315 and U.S. Highway 84, east of Mount Enterprise.

Crews will make base and pavement repairs on Farm-to-Market Road 1504 between U.S. Highway 80 in Edgewood and Texas Highway 64 in Myrtle Springs.

Construction crews will continue work to add passing lanes on U.S. Highway 69 between Farm-to-Market Road 779 in Golden and Loop 564 in Mineola.

The approximate $2.6 million project began in September and is scheduled for completion in summer 2014.

TxDOT maintenance crews will make edge and pavement repairs on U.S. Highway 80 between Mineola and Farm-to-Market Road 778 in Crow.
