The Tyler Area Senior Citizens Association (TASCA) will host a ballroom dance showcase March 29, featuring past winners from “Dancing With the Tyler Stars” as well as some new talent in ballroom dance.

The event includes open dancing, beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres beginning at 6 p.m. The showcase itself begins at 7.

“Even if you don’t dance, watching the show will provide some unique and inspiring entertainment,” said Billie Gordon, executive director of TASCA, in the written release. “It will be a perfectly magical night.”

Tyler Stars to be showcased include Dr. David DiPaulo, John Feliciano, Jonna Fitzgerald, Dr. Laura O’Halloran, Katherine Harrison, Holly Head, Vicki Smith and Larry Wade. Partners include Jennifer Bailey, Shannon Reynolds, Sal Landeros, Stepp Sydnor, Cordi Collins, Robert Silva, Rachel Landeros and Raven Landeros.

Other evening entertainment includes the Viennese Waltz, performed by Zayjean and Chip Clark, Jenny and Darrell Norris, Regina Perdue and Ken Barron, Doris and Marshall Sharp, Doris Valentin and Marice Green, and Cindy and Bob Westbrook. TJC Ballet Students will participate in this beautiful waltz performance as well. The Fly Kids from the Glass Recreation Center also will entertain with a high-energy number.

After the showcase, there will be plenty of time for more open dancing. Music will be provided by the “Doc Gibbs Band” from Dallas.

“Stars in Review 2014” will be a major fundraising effort for TASCA. Admission for this event is $90 per person. Space is limited so reservations should be made as soon as possible. The attire is black tie optional (evening gown or cocktail dresses for the ladies, tuxedo or dark suit and tie for the gentlemen).

TASCA, with the support of community sponsors, is working to make “Stars in Review” an annual community-wide event to raise funds for East Texas seniors. For more information, contact the TASCA Activity Center at 903-871-3217.
