The body of a missing East Texas woman has been found and a suspect is in custody.
Family members say the body of Alicia Benefield was found on Elysian Fields Cutoff, which is just outside of Marshall city limits. They tell us there were signs of strangulation and they say she'd been shot twice.
Rodris Webster, who had been called a "person of interest" now faces a murder charge. He's scheduled to go before a judge Wednesday morning. We're told that Webster led authorities to the remains.
Benefield's body has been sent to Tyler for autopsy. This isn't Webster's first run in with the law.
He was arrested in January on an aggravated assault charge after he allegedly beat up and threatened Benefield with a knife. Earlier this month, she dropped the charges and Webster was released from custody on March 5th. Benefield was last seen leaving Webster's house, early Friday morning after police broke up a party there.
