The arrests of two men last week in the attempted theft of an ATM at Kelly Federal Credit Union on Texas Highway 31 West has led authorities to clearing other cases in the area and in other states.

According to a news release from the Smith County Sheriff's Office, the arrests of Winston Barnes, 25, and Steven Prior, 35, resulted in a search warrant being served on Prior’s residence and vehicle.

Through the search warrant several burglary cases have been linked to Barnes and Prior.

The two had property listed in three cases out of Lindale of burglary cases at construction sites, including about $5,000 in construction tools. They also were in possession of items listed in three thefts, including a John Deere riding mower valued at $1,750, two zero-turn Dixie Chopper lawnmowers valued at $30,000, and an Echo Weedeater valued at $300.

In cases investigated by Tyler Police the men were linked to trailer thefts, including a box trailer and a flat-bed trailer along with another attempted ATM theft.

Both men also are wanted in connection for burglaries in Tennessee and Washington.
