A partnership between Tyler Junior College and a local elementary school aims to promote a college-going culture in the youngest students.
TJC will work with Tyler ISD’s Bell Elementary Global Communications Academy to expose students to parts of college life, such as campus tours and theater productions, according to a TISD news release.
“The main goal of this partnership is to begin training our students to be more college-minded even at this young age, and to actually see themselves as a future college student,” Bell Principal Dr. Kari Hampton said, according to the news release.
The partnership slogan is “Future College Student” and is displayed on hallway banners and student T-shirts.
The two schools announced the partnership during a student-led assembly recently.
