UTT: Association to award 3 during upcomning Alumni Gala

The University of Texas at Tyler Alumni Association will honor three graduates during its upcoming Alumni Gala.

This year’s honorees are distinguished alumni Dawn Franks and David L. King and distinguished young alumnus Michael Wysocki, according to a university news release.

The UT Tyler Alumni Association presents Distinguished Alumni Awards to graduates who have set themselves apart in their professional achievements, contributions to society and support of the university, according to the news release.

Dr. Kenneth Hall, Baylor University’s senior vice president of university development and strategic initiatives, is scheduled to serve as the keynote speaker.

Hall has a bachelor’s degree in history from UT Tyler and received a 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award from the school, according to the news release.

Distinguished alumna Ms. Franks earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in science from UT Tyler in 1979 and 1989, respectively.

She is the executive director of the Ben and Maytee Fisch Foundation and a longtime supporter of UT Tyler and its Alumni Association, according to the news release.

Distinguished alumnus King earned a Master of Business Administration from UT Tyler in 1983.

He is president of CB&I Engineered Products, a global technology, engineering and construction organization. It is part of the CB&I organization, which has more than 50,000 employees worldwide.

Distinguished young alumnus Wysocki earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from UT Tyler in 2003.

He practices family law as a litigator/partner with McCurley, Orsinger, McCurley, Nelson and Downing LLP in Dallas, according to the news release.

The ‘Alumni and Friends’ reception is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. March 29. Dinner and a program will follow. All events are scheduled to take place at the UT Tyler Ornelas Activity Center.

Event tickets cost $50 for general admission, $40 for UT Tyler faculty and staff and $25 for UT Tyler students. Tables of eight cost $500 for general admission and $400 for the UT Tyler community.
