Spring means many things in Tyler, including Azalea Trails, the Goodman Museum’s Artisans and Flower Market, gallery openings and ArtWalk. In preparation for all of those events, the Heart of Tyler is holding a Downtown Clean-Up Day event Saturday, March 15 beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Volunteers are being asked to bring rakes, shovels, gloves and elbow grease to 110 W. Erwin. At 9:30 a.m., volunteers will be assigned work areas to pick up trash, pull weeds, plant flowers and help downtown shine.

“When we get a lot of volunteers at this event, it doesn’t take much time to accomplish our mission,” said Heart of Tyler President Bill Newburn. “Our downtown is the center of many activities, and we want to help make it look its best for visitors and residents alike.”

Newburn noted that trash bags, pick-up sticks and refreshments will be provided.
