Donations are being sought for a Ben Wheeler man injured in a wreck while delivering newspapers for The Tyler Morning Telegraph.

Steve Tyndell, 53, was paralyzed from the waist down about 5 a.m. Feb. 13 when he rounded a curve and his back wheels hit gravel, causing him to lose control and broadside a tree, his wife, Nancy, said.

Tyndell’s spinal chord was severed and doctors said it is unlikely he ever will walk, Mrs. Tyndell said.

Tyndell was hospitalized for two weeks at East Texas Medical Center.

He has no medical insurance and is not eligible for workers compensation, Ms. Tyndell said.

Contributions to help with his medical expenses may be mailed to Steve Tyndell, 5200 Farm-to-Market Road Road 314, Ben Wheeler, Tx. 75754.
