(MCT) -- City of Palestine will offer residents a chance to clear their closets and yards at no charge on Palestine Spring Cleanup Day set for March 15.
Discarded items will be accepted 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Palestine Transfer Station, 30440 Highway 79 East, one mile outside city limits.
Items accepted will include:
-- Limbs, brush and leaves.
-- Household garbage, furniture, lumber, shingles and dried paint.
-- Sheet metal, pipe, scrap iron and cast iron.
-- Refrigerators, washers, dryers, A/C units, televisions and personal computers.
-- Tires including car tires and light truck tires only. No tractor or large truck tires will be allowed. All tires must be separated from the rims.
-- Computers, laptops, mainframes, peripherals, telephones including cell phones, fax machines, printers and copiers.
Proof of address must be shown. The event is not for commercial haulers or contractors. No household chemicals, such as drain cleaners, liquid paint, cleaning supplies, herbicides, pesticides, automotive fluids or acids will be accepted.
