LONGVIEW (KYTX) - A 42-year-old and a 2-month-old baby remain in critical condition after last night's house fire in Longview. The two were air lifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Longview Fire Marshal Johnny Zackary says the home off of Tryon Road is a complete loss, but luckily the family was insured.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but Zackary says it started in the downstairs living room around 10:33 Tuesday night.

The Fire Department reports that the house did not seem to have any smoke detectors, and people only knew the house was on fire after smelling it. It's reported that 4 had to jump out of a second-story window to escape.

Two dogs were killed and another is receiving burn treatment at a local vet.

The American Red Cross is helping with relief.
