A women’s self-defense clinic will take place on Saturday.

The clinic, for women age 14 and older, is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Glass Recreation Center, 501 W. 32nd St.

Alex Jones, a fourth degree black belt in Go’Ju-Ryu Karate, will teach the class, according to a city news release.

According to the release, participants will learn “to think on their feet, avoid potentially dangerous situations and to respond properly to threat.”

“With proper training, you will reduce your chances of being attacked and learn techniques to help against an attacker of any size,” Glass Recreation Center Supervisor Ann Santana said in the release. “With practice these techniques will be easy to remember and use.”

Cost is $25 per person.
