Tyler ISD Superintendent Gary Mooring is scheduled to have his first evaluation today after a little more than a year with the district.

The school board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. today in the Dr. Jack L. Davidson Conference Center in the Jim Plyler Instructional Complex.

The board will conduct Mooring’s evaluation during the 6 p.m. closed session, but is scheduled to vote on it and his contract during the open meeting.

Mooring came to the district as interim superintendent in August 2012, but was hired for the job on Jan. 14, 2013. His contract was for 2 1/2 years with an annual salary of $185,000, an $800 monthly vehicle allowance and a $200 monthly electronics allowance. It had no longevity incentive or raises built into it.

Other items on the board’s agenda include: voting on the guaranteed maximum prices for the new Moore and Boulter middle schools and discussing the creation of an Early College High School.
