Republican gubernatorial frontrunner Gregg Abbott stopped in Tyler today as he continues to stump for his campaign and encourage voters to cast ballots.

A crowd of more than 80 filled available standing room and nooks inside Loggins Restaurant to listen to Abbott pledge his commitment to fighting for Texans’ freedoms, maintaining Texas’ top spots in job creation, energy production and exports. He also pledged to make Texas No. 1 in the nation in education.

Abbott faces three opponents for the GOP gubernatorial primary nomination, including former radio talk show host and author Lisa Fritsch, Miriam Martinez, a business woman who received her U.S. citizenship in 2010, and telecommunications contractor and perennial candidate for various elected positions SECEDE Kilgore.

Early voting continues today through Feb. 28. Election Day is March 4.
