A teen is in critical condition at East Texas Medical Center following a two-vehicle crash last night.
Shortly after 6 p.m., officers responded to the 7600 block of Highway 271 north in Tyler. A Chevrolet Blazer was southbound on 271 north when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to ice on the roadway. The Blazer slid into oncoming traffic and struck a northbound Ford F550. The passenger of the Blazer, a 17-year-old girl, was pinned in and had to be removed by Tyler Fire Department personnel. She was transported to ETMC, where she remains in critical condition. The driver of both the Blazer and the Ford pick-up were also transported to ETMC with apparent minor injuries.
