A 15-year-old Jacksonville man was arrested Tuesday morning after a 15-minute police chase.
The Jacksonville Police Department was notified at 9:12 a.m. that a juvenile stole his mother’s car, according to department officials.
The stolen car was spotted at the intersection of South Jackson Street and Adams Street around 10 a.m.
The 15-year-old did not stop for officers, and he was chased along several city streets before heading east on U.S. Highway 79 toward New Summerfield. He then turned down County Road 4218, hit a dead end, got out of the car and was arrested.
The department did not release the 15-year-old’s name because he is a juvenile.
