A Tyler man was arrested Friday for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Victor Michael Austin, 39, of Tyler, was arrested by Smith County Sheriff’s Office detectives after a child came forward and reported the sexual abuse, according to a news release from the department.
On Thursday, the child reported being abused, and an official report was filed and forensic interview was conducted.
After the interview, a warrant for Austin was issued by 241st District Court Judge Jack Skeen Jr.
Austin admitted to the sexual abuse when he was arrested, the release states.
He was booked into the Smith County Jail, and his bond was set at $1,000,000.
