Goodwill Industries hires new director, assistant director

Goodwill Industries has hired Mike Vinson as the Director of Mission and Rehabilitation Services, and Asia-Renee’ Johnson as the Assistant Director of Human Resources.

Vinson graduated with a bachelor of arts in social work from Midwestern State University and a master of science in rehabilitation counseling from the University of North Texas. Vinson comes to Goodwill with more than 27 years of experience with the Texas Department of Rehabilitative Services. He specialized in traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury during his service there.

“I have devoted and sincere commitment to the mission of Goodwill to improve the lives of people with barriers to employment by providing skills training and vocational opportunities,” he said in the written release.

Ms. Johnson holds a master’s degree in public administration: public policy/healthcare, a bachelor’s degree in human services and is a certified professional paralegal and mediator. Ms. Johnson has a background in county government, federal government, nonprofit and mass transportation totaling more than thirty years. She has held positions in administration, human resources and legal. Some of her former employers have included BART (Bay Area Transit System), University of California and the Social Security Administration. She has worked as a public management consultant for the past several years.
