The University of Texas at Tyler’s music program has received full accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Music.
This association serves as the national accrediting agency for music and music-related disciplines among collegiate and postsecondary schools, according to a university news release.
The association recognized UT Tyler’s music program after a process that included a self-study examination, on-site peer review and a vote by the association’s commission, according to the news release.
“We are very proud of this accomplishment,” Dr. Michael Thrasher, UT Tyler associate professor and School of Performing Arts director, said. “Achieving NASM accreditation is a significant external affirmation of the quality of our music program.”
UT Tyler’s School of Performing Arts offers the Bachelor of Music and the Bachelor of Arts in music.
