From now until Feb. 15, for every bowl of chicken noodle soup purchased at all three Chick-Fil-A locations (Broadway Crossing, Highlands Village and Broadway Square Mall), Chick-Fil-A will donate one bowl of soup to The Salvation Army in Tyler. More than 6,500 bowls of soup were donated last year.

“After the holiday season some people think The Salvation Army takes a break,” said Maj. Ben Lawrence of Tyler in the written release. “No more bell ringing. No more Christmas kettles. We just wait until next year to help those in need. But nothing could be further from the truth!”

The organization provided services to more than 11,400 people in need last year.

“With persistently high unemployment, rising living costs and stagnating wages, there are many in our community who are hurting. That’s why our Annual Fund Drive Campaign is so important,” said Lawrence. “Our goal is to raise $350,000 to support 1,000 people in the next 30 days. We want to be ready to respond to those who need our help in 2014 and, with the support of our friends in Smith County, we will.”
