Buckner Westminter Place and Bloom’s Landscaping restored a garden at The Arc of Gregg County.
The Arc serves people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Development Director Amy Canton said people come to the garden to eat lunch and spend time outdoors.
Acid from 200-year-old oak trees damaged the garden’s plants and trees.
“This (garden) was actually a Leadership Longview project from 2011,” Canton said. “It used to just be a plain tract of dirt, and they raised $20,000 and made us a garden.”
Volunteers took out rakes and new soil to bring the garden back to life.
