VIDEO: Man robbed at gunpoint while walking through woods in Tyler

A man was robbed at gunpoint while walking through the woods last night in Tyler.

Tuesday night, at approximately 11 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of W. Oakwood in reference to a robbery of an individual.  Once on scene, officers spoke with the victim who stated he was walking through the woods just west of the business located at 1001 W. Oakwood and noticed someone walking behind him.  The person then approached him, displaying a handgun and demanding money.  The suspect then left the area with some personal property belonging to the victim. 

The victim in this case was not injured.  The suspect is described as a black male wearing a black ski mask, a green military style coat, camouflage pants and work boots.  The suspect was believed to be in his 20's, approximately 5' – 5'6" in height and 150 to 160  pounds. 

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000 or Tyler/Smith County Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF.   Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any other felony case.
