A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting Friday night.
Ke-Avier Jarrod (K.J.) Wilson-Hurd was in the Smith County jail Saturday on an aggravated assault charge with a deadly weapon with a $500,000 bond, according to Tyler Police.
At 9:09 p.m. Friday, police received a 911 call following the shooting of a 25-year-old woman at 1007 Loop 323 NNW at the Rose Valley Apartment Complex.
Officers identified the victim as Armis Barnes, of Tyler, who was found laying just inside one of the apartments shot in the face.
No one else was injured in the shooting, according to police.
Ms. Barnes was transported to East Texas Medical Center and taken into surgery with non life-threatening injuries.
Investigators learned several people were inside the apartment when officers arrived, including Wilson-Hurd, who were all detained pending investigation.
Following the investigation, Wilson-Hurd was arrested and booked into the county jail. The investigation is ongoing.
