The Tyler ISD board of trustees is expected to appoint a candidate today for a recently vacated school board position.
Brad Spradlin, who previously held the District 5 position, resigned effective Dec. 16.
Spradlin, who served on the board for 11 years, said he wanted to focus more on his family and business responsibilities, according to a TISD news release.
The school board is scheduled to meet at 8:30 a.m. today in the Conference Room B of the district Administration Building, 1319 Earl Campbell Parkway.
The board is set to discuss the issue in closed session, and vote on the appointment in the open session. The new trustee will then take the oath of office.
