The Lighthouse once again was able to collect more than 500 toys for Toys for Tots this year during its annual campaign.

Each year during the holiday season, employees are encouraged to donate toys for families in East Texas. The toys are then presented to Larry Adkins, Toys for Tots coordinator, at the Lighthouse’s annual Christmas banquet.

Not only does the Lighthouse donate toys, but they also donate their time by volunteering to organize, bag and label all of the toys collected in East Texas for the Toys for Tots organization.

The employees will be volunteering at The Old Texas Guard Armory at 2520 E. Commerce St. in Tyler from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

A number of blind and visually impaired employees will be assisting in the activity, which is a way for them to give back to the community during the holiday season.
