Tyler Junior College will recognize more than 700 graduation candidates during commencement ceremonies today.
The ceremonies are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Wagstaff Gymnasium on the college’s main campus, 1400 E. Fifth St.
The morning ceremony will recognize graduates in the schools of Engineering, Mathematics and Sciences; Humanities, Communication and Fine Arts; and Nursing and Health Sciences, according to a TJC news release.
Graduates from the School of Professional and Technical Programs will be recognized in the afternoon ceremony.
TJC President Dr. Mike Metke will confer the associate’s degrees and certificates of proficiency as well as certify the graduates, according to the news release.
Dr. Aubrey Sharpe, School of Continuing Studies dean, is scheduled to give the invocation and benediction.
Dr. Cheryl Rogers, director of institutional effectiveness, planning and research, will lead the singing of the national anthem and TJC alma mater. TJC board members will present the diplomas and certificates.
TJC Alumni Association president Doc Deason will give the alumni salutation.
