A bank account was set up for the 16 victims of a Sunday house fire that left 10 children homeless.
The Kendrick Family Fire Relief Fund was set up at Austin Bank. Monetary donations can be made at any Austin Bank location.
The home the family was living in caught fire at 2:39 p.m. Sunday on County Road 2173. No one was injured in the blaze, but the home and everything inside, including Christmas presents, was destroyed.
Family members said the community has responded with an outpouring of clothing and other items, but the immediate need is a new place to stay and enough money to put down the required deposits. The family hopes to find a four bedroom home in the Whitehouse/Troup area.
