Andre Thompson, 45, of Tyler, rings a Salvation Army bell in front of Walgreens at Rieck Road and South Broadway Avenue on Saturday morning. Thompson planned to beat the other two remaining competitors in California and Minnesota. He, along with the remaining competitors stopped ringing at 8 p.m. Saturday after ringing the bell for 105 hours and a three-way tie was declared, according to Walgreen's spokeswoman. That’s 25 hours more than the last record. He started manning the outdoor red bucket at Walgreens on Tuesday morning through rain and sub-freezing temperatures and raised more than $6,000.
