The local Mothers Against Drunk Driving chapter’s Tie One On For Safety Luncheon & “Difference Maker” Awards will be held today.
Its purpose is to recognize outstanding members of the community for their support and advancement of drunken driving and underage drinking issues.
Five “Difference Maker” awards will be presented to the following: Gregg County Court at Law Judge Rebecca Simpson, the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at Stephen F. Austin University, Irene Webster of Texas Department of Transportation, Jeff Weinstein of the Weinstein Law Firm, and Sandy Bunch, a volunteer.
The lunch will be 11:30 a.m. today at The University of Texas at the Tyler Ornelas Center, 3204 Old Omen Road. Lunch will be served.
Keynote speaker will be Kari Miller, the 2008 and 2012 U.S. Paralympian silver medalist in sitting volleyball.
