Skip Ogle, director of community relations for Suddenlink Communications, announced his candidacy for the District 6 seat held by State Rep. Matt Schaefer this morning.
Ogle graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in architecture and a Masters degree in city and regional planning. He has been a registered lobbyist representing companies such as Southwestern Bell Telephone and Suddenlink for more than a decade. He also owns and operates Skip Ogle Homes.
“I'll fight for East Texas businesses and the protection of innocent life, property rights and future generations of Texans,” said Ogle.
State Rep. Matt Schaefer, R-Tyler, would face Ogle in the March 2014 Republican primary.
The last day for a candidate to file for the March primary is December 9th.
