The Junior League of Tyler, Inc. will celebrate volunteerism by serving in non-profit agencies across Smith County this evening starting at 6:30 p.m.
According to League President Shannon Glenney, “Our League members currently volunteer more than 20,000 hours annually in Smith County. This event, a Night of Service, was added to highlight volunteerism and the needs of our local non-profits."
Junior League members will be found painting, organizing, cleaning, and filing to help their partner agencies with projects that often must go overlooked.
"We feel that helping these agencies is the perfect way for us to celebrate volunteerism,” Glenney said.
These agencies support women, children, families and senior citizens in the Smith County area and include the East Texas Food Bank, the Boys and Girls Club of East Texas, Alzheimer’s Alliance, Champions for Children, Meals on Wheels, Parents Anonymous, the Tyler Museum of Art, St. Paul Children’s Foundation and the Children’s Advocacy Center Candlelight Vigil.
