Just in time for Halloween, Theatre TJC will stage a one-act version of Washington Irving’s classic tale of lanky schoolmaster Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.”
Playwrights John Heimbuch and Jon Ferguson infuse Irving’s short story with a lively blend of gothic terror and tongue-in-cheek humor that ably captures Irving’s story and demonstrates why it remains so compelling.
The production is under the direction of Jacob L. Davis, TJC theater professor.
The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 through 28 – with a special, late-night Halloween show at 9 p.m. on Oct. 31.
The performance will be held in the college’s Jean Browne Theatre.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students. Admission is free with a valid TJC ID. Parental discretion is advised since very young children might experience some startling moments.
The TJC Box Office opens on Oct. 18. Its hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. For reservations, call 903-510-2212.
