Romana Dumanska, a ballerina with the Russian Ballet, will perform in Tyler on Thursday as part of the Art of Peace festival .
Ms. Dumanska will dance a piece titled “Dove of Peace” at noon in the amphitheater in Bergfeld Park, according to a joint statement from representatives of the ballet and festival. The performance is free.
Thursday is International Day of Peace.
Ms. Dumanska is on her first tour of North America with the ballet, the statement said. She has won international dance competitions.
She performs the dance as part of the ballet’s production of “The Great Russian Nutcracker.” In this version of the story, the Dove of Peace character replaces the Sugar Plum Fairy.
