The 14th Annual Family History Fair is set 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tyler, 1617 Shiloh Road.
The free event is being sponsored by East Texas Genealogical Society and The Tyler Stake Family History Center, according to an announcement from the genealogical society.
The theme is “Fun Family Reunion Ideas” and will include presentations by genealogical experts and breakout sessions.
8:30 a.m.: registration.
9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.: “Fun Family Reunion Ideas” by Marynell Bryant.
Noon to 12:30 p.m.: skit on family genealogy.
12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.: brown-bag lunch and panel discussion.
1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.: breakout sessions: “Searching, Finding and Using the Treasures of Family History,” by Lynell Moss; “Storytelling”; “Family History for Youth by Youth.”
Ms. Bryant is a past president of the Texas State Genealogical Society. She has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism and experience in using DNA to identify family lineage.
Ms. Moss serves as a consultant to genealogical organizations including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
