Volunteer training for the East Texas Crisis Center will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the center.
The 5 1/2-week course that will be conducted Tuesdays and Thursdays, according to information from the center. There are many opportunities available to volunteers desiring to help end the cycle of violence by donating their time and talents.
The center is a nonprofit, charitable organization, providing safety, shelter and education to victims of family violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes.
Officials at the crisis center said donated items are always appreciated.
Donations, especially cell phones are needed at the center.
Other items needed include medium-size suitcases, alarm clocks, scrubs, ladies and children’s underwear and socks.
