The March of Dimes will host its fourth annual Signature Chefs Auction and Gala celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the organization Sept. 23.
The event at Willow Brook Country Club will feature 13 corporate and executive chefs. The auction and gala will offer guests an opportunity to enjoy a great night out while raising funds and increasing awareness of the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies.
Guests can bid on auction items donated by East Texas businesses. Brookshire Grocery Co. is the presenting sponsor the auction. Event sponsors include Village Bakery, Tyler Today magazine, Suddenlink, East Texas Refrigeration, Overhead Door, and Henry and Peters.
“What better way to enjoy a wonderful meal than by supporting the March of Dimes mission and working together for stronger, healthier babies, right here in Tyler,” said Bettie Smith, owner and chef at Village Bakery and Signature Chefs auction chair.
Other volunteers are Barbara Huggins, honorary chair; Larry Lott, Fund the Mission chair; Debbie Stanley and Debbie Townsend, Revenue Committee co-chairs; Lisa and Whit Bowman, Culinary chair; Dion Emanuel, lead chef and Tricia Muse, Communications chair.
Donations of sponsorships and auction items have been made by Brookshire Grocery Co., RJ Jewelers, The Christmas Store, Villa Montez, Sabor a Pasion, Willow Brook Country Club and more.
Chefs participating include Glen Terrell of Brookshire Grocery Co., Jackson York of Lakeview Methodist Conference Center; Bernard Gautier of Bernard Mediterranean Restaurant, Whit and Lisa Bowman of Adalante’ Catering and Events, Carlos Villapudua of Villa Montez, Cedric Fletcher of Fat Catz, Tony Barrera of Lago del Pino and Dion Emanuel of Willow Brook Country Club.
